Fox said at first that she was leaving because she was sick of flying back and forth between Denver and Los Angeles for recording sessions. Roswell then announced that she was asking for a raise, not only because she was tired of traveling but also because of the rising price of airfare. Roswell had been making between $1,500 and $2,000 an episode for the three seasons before she quit. She asked Fox to raise her pay to $6,000 an episode. But Fox only gave her a $150 raise, which wasn’t enough to cover her travel costs, so she quit.

In 2002, Roswell returned to “The Simpsons.”
